A Clearing in the Wood

When Brengwain, an indentured servant, witnesses a horrific murder, she flees for her life and finds herself on the streets of Lakeside, desperate to escape before the murderer's men find her. But when they corner her, she has only one option—flight into the outlawed forest, where she finds a rescue she never expected, and a life she could not have imagined.

”A Clearing in the Wood” is my most recent story, and I’ve written it specifically for the Christ & Tolkien conference, which called for “stories that engage and grapple with imaginatively presenting a vision of paradise in a fallen world.”

I should receive an acceptance or rejection by the end of May.
