musings on writing and all things medieval

Severn Bridge

Since Roman times, anyone who wanted to cross the Severn Estuary separating Wales and England had to pay a toll.

No longer.

Today marked the first day in recorded history when the rulers of England did not collect a tax from those who crossed the estuary.

I love it when medieval and modern meet.

The Severn River is below in blue.
